The Companies:
We are currently working with various companies who require experienced Garment Technologist’s to join them.  They require enthusiastic people with ladies, mens and childrenswear knowledge and products such as Jerseywear, Outerwear, Knitwear and Denim and have ideally worked within a fast paced supplier of fashion.

The Role:
- Prepare and submit all counter samples for customer selection.
- Measure and create specs for all selected styles and assessing all samples from development to bulk production.
- Send the selected sketches for sampling / costing with a detailed written format along with any fabrics that need to be sourced for the individual styles.
- Response and interpret to the team the test reports and test standards and act accordingly. 
- Deal with Customer Buyers/Designers comments regards to any styling or fit comments.
- Responsible for managing the fitting, sealing and technical process for all customer accounts.
- Fit garments on models with customer Q.C. to check that the item fits and make any necessary amendments.
- Attend fit meeting sessions with customers advising them on technical and pattern issues and carry out pattern amendments directly, or dictating amendments to the factories via a workbook including comments and diagrams.  
- Attend design meetings with Customer Buyers to show prepared collection for the season and receive a brief on requirements.
- Attend any initial design meetings or introduction meetings with existing or new customers.
- Meet all customer deadlines.
- Successfully develop and implement workbooks, processes and techniques to aid in the communication with the factories.
Create, check and issue grades specifications to factories.
- Create and update key pattern blocks and revise them for individual accounts.
- Relay any amendments needed to factory throughout the sealing stages until a production sample is submitted.
- Daily communication with the factories and suppliers to ensure efficiency. 
- Handle any factories queries relating to design, fabric, fit comments and amendments regarding quality control.
- Relay all comments with explanation sketches if necessary to factories.
- Visit the factories and suppliers in China to initiate samples, assess sampling and production and assisting in the development of production and make techniques.
- Re-cutting factory patterns to correct fit and styling details where necessary.
- Creating and updating key pattern blocks and revising them for individual accounts.
- Working closely with the Designers, cutting first patterns from design sketches and advising technical implications and specs at point of initial design.
- Handle any factories queries relating to design, fabric, fit comments and amendments regarding quality control.
- Assist with other ad hoc duties when needed. 
- Communicate and work closely with the Head of Textiles and all team members relevant to each customer account.

Skills Required:
- Good understanding of garment fit and construction.
- Ability to develop basic pattern blocks for customers.
- Ability to re-cut patterns from development sample to improve fit and styling.
- Good communication skills with Buyers, Designers and factories 
- Experienced in fitting garments with customers.
- High level Excel and computer skills (drawing, ideally illustrator and photoshop).
- Re-drawing updated designs if necessary. 
- Accurate and eye for detail.
- Enthusiastic. 
- Good time management skills.
- Working on own initiative and self motivated.
- Managing fits for up to 20 accounts across mens, womens and childrens. 
- Experience with products such as Outerwear, Denim, Knit,Jersey, Woven etc
- Grading experience across a wide range of accounts (must understand rules and be able to assist with any issues with grading).
- Willingness to travel alone to visit factories
